An Orono man was arrested earlier this month on a charge of indecent conduct after Orono police said they found him strolling sans pants.

After his arrest, Jeffrey Bosowski, 22, was taken to Penobscot County Jail. Bosowski, who since has made bail, is scheduled to make an initial appearance in 3rd District Court in Bangor on Nov. 12.

The episode began about 3:15 a.m. Oct. 2, when Orono police officers were called to investigate a complaint of a loud party at 5 Plummer St., Sgt. Scott Wilcox said Monday night.

After parking their police cars on nearby School Street, Sgt. Scott LaJoie and Officers Derek Dinsmore and Edward Leskey began walking toward the problem address. As they came around the corner from School to Plummer streets, they met up with Bosowski, who wasn’t wearing any pants. Wilcox said.

The officers reported that the man was “extremely intoxicated.”

Getting to the bottom of things proved difficult, Wilcox said. Bosowski couldn’t quite recall where he had left his pants. He also replied, “You stopped me,” to numerous questions posed to him, including why he wasn’t wearing pants and whether he needed assistance.

Bosowski also reportedly smiled broadly during most of the time police were questioning him.

Wilcox said police found Bosowski’s pants in front of 5 Plummer St. and let him put them on before putting him in a cruiser for a trip to the county lockup. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)

Two transients face multiple charges after trying to obtain a prescription drug used to treat anxiety and stress disorders last week at a Brewer pharmacy, police said.

Charged with attempted acquiring drugs by deception were Crystal D. Doucette, 27, whose address was listed as the Acadia Recovery Community in Bangor, and Steven J. Pelletier II, 29, whose address was listed as a Brewer motel, Brewer police Cpl. Anthony Pinette said Monday.

Pinette said that Doucette also was charged with possession of a marijuana pipe and that Pelletier was charged with violating conditions of bail from a previous unrelated charge.

The incident that led to the charges occurred on Oct. 6, when an employee of a Brewer pharmacy received a call requesting that a prescription for Xanax be filled for Pelletier. The employee, Pinette said, became suspicious and called the police.

Pelletier reportedly gave his identification card to Doucette, who went to the pharmacy later to try to pick up the prescription. When Doucette arrived, she was detained by Brewer police Officer Amy Nickerson, who eventually arrested her. Nickerson tracked Pelletier to the motel room, where he also was charged and arrested.

Both suspects were taken to Penobscot County Jail. Both since have been released on bail. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)

Bangor police summoned a Veazie man who allegedly struck another vehicle in the Bugaboo Creek parking lot Saturday, moved his own car to another row and then entered the restaurant without bothering to tell the vehicle’s owner.

John Bunker, 30, was charged with failure to notify the owner of an accident, Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan said Monday night.

Reagan said the incident was reported to the police by a witness, who provided Bunker’s license plate number. He said police issued the summons after Bunker left the restaurant to find out why his vehicle was being towed. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
