BANGOR – Lucy (Caron) LeBel, 95, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, with her family at her side, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 31, 1914, at Eagle Lake, the daughter of Stephen P. and Lizzie (Nadeau) Caron. Lucy worked in the dry cleaning industry much of her life and was a seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crafts. She was a longtime resident of Bradford Commons before moving to Freese’s Assisted Living, in 2008. She was one of nine children and is survived by her sister, Leonora Pelkey of South Portland; and her four children, Joanne Brooks, Charlene Frati and husband, Orlando, Diana LeBel of Bangor, and Dean LeBel of Hallowell. Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Fred; and sons, David and Stephen. She will be greatly missed by her children, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and several very special friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local charity. A graveside service will be held in the near future at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor. A date and time will be announced in the paper. Masses will also be said throughout the coming year at St. Paul the Apostle Parish. Please check church bulletin for dates.
