PITTSFIELD – Lawrence “Pa” Wyman Sr., 68, took his leave in the early hours of Nov. 2, 2009. With his wife of 47 years, Charlene at his side, Pa took a final breath and went hunting. It was a beautiful moonlit night, ensuring he would have no trouble finding his way. Pa was a hard worker, toiling at shoe shops in Pittsfield until their closure last year; this never slowed him down however, and he turned his energy into making his gardens and home in Pittsfield the envy of the neighborhood. Cancer took him away far too early from his loving family. Happy hunting Pa; you gave us a wonderful life, rich and full of memories. You will be missed, and with each shed tear and chuckle at a remembrance of a colorful story you will be remembered fondly. Pa is survived by his wife, Charlene “MeMe” Wyman of Pittsfield; and two sons, Howard and Lawrence Jr. “Lonnie”. Howard resides with his wife, Jennifer, in St Petersburg, Fla.; Lonnie and his wife, Alicia, reside in Old Town; and five grandchildren, Benjamin, Morgan, Susie, Nathan, and Chase have that special place in Pa’s heart only grandparents can understand. Pa came from a large family and is survived by two sisters, Joanne Flannery and Kay Smith; four brothers, Howard Reopelle, Leonard Wyman, Robert Wyman and Martin Wyman; and not to be forgotten is his special brother-in-law, Clinton “Sonny” Holmes. Pa’s family was large and he was also predeceased by three sisters, June Hubbard, Barbara Norris and Joyce Penny; and two brothers, Eugene Reopelle and Delmont Wyman. Pa was a loving, simple man and wished for no visiting hours; MeMe will honor his request. There will be a graveside ceremony next summer at Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, and will be announced in advance.
