ANNISTON, Ala. – Richard David Osgood, 66, died Nov. 14, 2009. Mr. Osgood retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and Veterans’ of Foreign Wars of Anniston, Ala. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Rudd Osgood of Anniston, Ala.; two sons, James Allen Reed of South Carolina and James Lee Osgood of Anniston, Ala.; one daughter, Anmarie Osgood of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Joan Cronin of Boston and Julie Cross of Weaver, Ala.; several grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and longtime friends, David and Brenda Myers. He was predeceased by his wife, Vivian T. Osgood; father, Richard B. Osgood; mother, Mary DeWolfe; and his daughter, Jerri Lynn Osgood. Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home, 3865 U.S. Highway 431, North Anniston, Ala., with Sean Cross officiating. The family suggests memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
