POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Madeline H. Card, 95, formerly of Marlboro, N.Y., died Oct. 16, 2009, at The Pines in Poughkeepsie, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Born Nov. 9, 1913, in Lubec, she was daughter of the late Fred and Annie Althea Noddin Joy. She was a graduate of Lubec High School. Mrs. Card was married in 1938 to James Card, who died in 1994. They settled in Somerville, Mass., until 1954, when they moved to Milton, N.Y. She was a member of Ascension Holy Trinity Church. Mrs. Card served as librarian at Sarah Hull Hallock Library, Milton, N.Y. She was active in Milton-Marlboro Home Arts Club of the Ulster County Extension Bureau, and she volunteered in the school and in her church. She is remembered for her cooking, especially Boston baked beans, and apple and lemon meringue pies. Survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Joy Lynham and Richard of Medina, Ohio, and Elaine Frances Ward and Robert of Chaska, Minn.; one son, Frederick G. Card and Michelle, of Milton, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Robert Ward and Jeanne, Matthew Ward and Stacy, and Steven Ward and Deb, all of Minnesota, Jennifer Lynham Cunningham and Sean of Ithaca, N.Y., Thomas Lynham and Lisa of Oregon and Lauren Card of Milton, N.Y.; and five great-grandchildren, Lucas, Liam and Benjamin Ward and Oscar and Phoebe Cunningham. Mrs. Card was predeceased by 10 brothers, Byron, Raymond, Alfred, Austin, Ralph, Arnold, Ronald, Donald, Eugene and Myron; and four sisters, Mary Elaine, Lenora, Irma and Marguerite. A funeral service was held. Burial of cremains will take place Jan. 16, 2010, at The Ascension Church Cemetery, West Park, N.Y. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Lawrence M. Cavazza and Carl J.
