At Hampden, Tyler Bessette poured in 21 points while brother Ray chalked up 15 as Brewer pulled away in the second half to earn the victory in a Class A showdown.
Ray Bessette, a junior, canned a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to give the Witches a 32-31 lead at the break, and they never trailed in the second half.
Bessette’s trey bounced off the back of the rim and rolled around and in.
Brewer, which improves to 2-0, placed four scorers in double figures as Nate Carson totaled 12 points and Jordan Richards 10.
The Witches were a solid 23-of-40 from the foul line while holding the Broncos to seven second-half field goals.
Ray Bessette also had seven rebounds while Tyler had four steals.
Brad Dolan paced Hampden with 17 points while Graham Safford had 13 and Noah Burditt 12.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Brewster Cherkis scored two goals to pace the Orono Red Riots in a win over John Bapst of Bangor.
Jake Doing had a goal and an assist for the 1-0 Red Riots. Trevor Estes scored the other goal and Tannar Francis had an assist. Michael Brown saved all 37 shots for the shutout.
Derek Duff made 20 saves on 24 shots for the 0-2 Crusaders.

At the Presque Isle Forum, Mitch Davis had two goals and an assist to lead Presque Isle past the Houlton-Hodgdon Black Hawks.
Josh MacFarline stopped all 27 shots he faced for the 1-1 Wildcats. Connor Shaw and Brennen Shaw each scored a goal. Isaac LaJoie and Zak Campbell each had an assist.
Malik Abouleish saved 29 of 33 shots for the 0-1 Black Hawks.
