FARMINGTON, N.H. – Joyce Ann (Gage) Segee, 60, of Spruce Drive, died Dec. 16, 2009, at her home. She was born March 7, 1949, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of John L. and Esther M. (McKenna) Gage. Joyce was raised in and attended local schools in Dover, N.H., graduating from St. Thomas in 1967. She furthered her education at McIntosh College, Dover, N.H. She made the Dover, N.H., area her home for many years while starting her family and working in the medical field. She worked as a medical office manager for Drs. Straham and O’day in their practice and continued on in the field as a medical transcriptionist later. In 1986, she moved to East Machias, where she worked for the University of Maine System and Downeast Community Hospital for a number of years. She returned to the Dover, N.H., area, settling in Farmington, N.H., in 2005. She worked for Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, N.H.; and Goodall Hospital, Sanford. Joyce enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader. She is survived by her mother, Esther Gage of Dover, N.H.; two sons, Eric Segee and his wife, Kristin, of Bangor, and Chris Segee of New Jersey; her former husband, John Segee of Hampden; special friends, Fran and Joan Chamberlain of Shelburne, N.H.; and many cousins. Joyce was predeceased by her father, John. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at her church, St. Joseph’s Church, Dover, N.H.
