SORRENTO – Ruth M. Clark, 85, died Dec. 28, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 20, 1924, in Sorrento, the daughter of Mason and Marion (Bickford) Sargent. Ruth taught in Hancock, Winter Harbor and Ashville schools for 35 years. She enjoyed reading, bird watching and collecting dishes. She was a member of the Maine Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and a former member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by son, Kevin J. Clark of Waterboro; daughter, Beth M. Clark and husband, James Bean, of Sorrento; brother, Russell Sargent of Sullivan; sister, Audrey Willis and husband, Thomas, of Gore, W.Va.; grandchildren, Sean Clark of Miami and Jason Clark of Sorrento; and great-grandchild, Serena Clark. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Jr.; and a son, Bruce A. Clark. Friends may make contributions in Ruth’s memory to the Shrine Hospital, care of Anah Shrine, P.O. Box 735, Bangor, ME 04402.
