CARIBOU – Josephine B. Newbegin, 83, wife of the late Clifford Newbegin, died Jan. 4, 2010, in Caribou. She was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Chapman, the daughter of Roy and May (Robins) Grendell. She was a graduate of Mapleton High School. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. Josephine is survived by her five children, Diana Payne and her husband, Clayton, of Broadway, Va., Gloria Rader and her husband, Michael, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jeff Newbegin and his wife, Colleen, of Newport Center, Vt., Michael Newbegin and his wife, Lucy, of Caribou, and Alan Newbegin and his wife, Steffi, of Germany; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, sisters and a grandson. Friends may call noon until time of services 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou.
