ELLSWORTH – Timothy Kirk Sawyer died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010. He was born May 2, 1967, in Blue Hill, the son of Karen (Burton) Sawyer and Richard E. Sawyer. Tim spent his youth moving around the country with his parents and brother, Rick. He rode with his parents in the cab of a pick-up from Maine to Alaska when he was only 2 years old and spent three years there with his family. He began kindergarten in North Carolina and then moved with his family and went to school in Bangor, Idaho, Blue Hill and Germany, and finally graduated high school in Melbourne, Fla. Every summer of his childhood he spent in Blue Hill with his grandparents, Ike and Nellie Burton of Blue Hill, and in Milbridge with Madeline and Phil Sawyer. He spent much of his childhood summers in Milbridge being close to his cousins, Cathy York of Cape Cod, Mass., Debbie Sawyer of Gouldsboro, Janet Jordan of Ellsworth and Nichole Jamison of Milbridge. He attended George Stevens Academy for a short while and lived in Blue Hill. He graduated high school from Eau Gallie High School, Melbourne, Fla., in 1985. He met his wife, Kellie, in California. They lived in Florida and Texas where they ran a moving business called Classic Movers. In 1999, Tim, his wife and two sons moved back home to Maine and settled in Brooklin. They had another son, Caleb Sawyer, in 2003 and lived together until 2009 when they were divorced. Tim loved to make things and was good with his hands. He loved his boys and called his house “Camp Threesons.” We will all miss him and wish he knew how many of us loved him. He will be remembered with love by all of us. Tim is survived by his father, Dick Sawyer of Milbridge; and his three sons, Timmy Sawyer, Ethan Sawyer and Caleb Sawyer. He is also survived by his brother, Rick Sawyer and Penny Ricker of Blue Hill; his nephews, Jed Sawyer and Will Ricker; and his uncle, Peter Sawyer.
