HAMLIN – J. Norman Dionne, 66, died Jan. 17, 2010, at Maine Veterans Home, Caribou. He was born Nov. 17, 1943, in Van Buren, the son of Albert and Gladys (Violette) Dionne. He was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for the State of Maine Department of Transportation for many years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 49 of Van Buren, Forty and Eight Society and St. John Valley Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. Norman was also a third degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1635 of Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Velma (Chasse) Dionne of Hamlin; three daughters, Tammy Christensen and husband, Erick, of Westbrook, Terry Brock and husband, Curt, of Chelsea, and Tracy Flagg and husband, Chad, of Limerick; three sisters, Marlene Poitras of Van Buren, Linda Doucette of Connecticut and Nola St. Pierre of Madawaska; five brothers, Willard, Steven, Lloyd, Clarence and Eldon Dionne, all of Van Buren; and four granddaughters, Kayla, Megan, Ericka and Izabella. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
