LINCOLN and MILLINOCKET – Theodore “Ted” Landry, 90, passed away Jan. 22, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 6, 1919, in Bangor, the son of Louis and Anna (Garneau) Landry. He was married to Maxine Sheedy for 64 years. He served in the 75th European Theatre of Operation and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired after 32 years as an officer in the Northeast Bank of Lincoln. He was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lincoln, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5524 and made his cursillo. Before retiring Ted was an active member of many civic, church and local activities. When he moved to Millinocket, he joined the singing group Dot and the Hasbeens and created many fond memories with them. He was proud to be the oldest class member attending Mattanawcook Academy alumni reunions for the last two years. He is survived by his four daughters, Susan and Ellis Bailey of West Enfield, Janet and Donald Marin of Lincoln, Mary and John Turner of Mattawamkeag and Ruth and Ron Bossie of Millinocket; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ellis Jr. and Jennifer Bailey; Elizabeth and Michael Harrington, Erin, Michelle and Devin; Billy Leveille; Erica and Jeremy Benson, Ian and Claire; Elaine and Greg Mazzeo; Jon Marin and Julie Fife, Ashlee; Ann Miles, Maryn, Makayla and Matthew; Jannifer Stevens; Kendra and Jon Sanborn, Phoebe and Norah; Johnna and Jason Shorter, Max; Katherine and Jesse Funchion, Maxine; Ted Bossie and Kathleen West; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Landry of Newport; a brother-in-law, John and Polly Sheedy of Ashland, Mass.; a son-in-law, Elton and Sue Shorey of Orono; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Maxine; a daughter, Ann Shorey; infant daughter, Mary Margaret; grandson, Lucas Bossie; a sister, Edwidge Blake; and brother, Edward “Jack” Landry. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Stearns Assisted Living, Millinocket. Their thoughtfulness and care made his last three years there feel like home. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. Myles Cyr officiating. Spring interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lincoln Veterans Memorial Fund. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
