WELLINGTON – Clair Merton Pike, 75, died Jan. 22, 2010, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1934, in Wellington, the son of Leland and Viola (Reardon) Pike. Clair enjoyed working in the woods, hunting, watching wrestling, telling stories of where he’s been and tinkering on anything with a motor. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pluma (Bagley) Pike; four daughters, Sheila and her husband, John Ronco, of Dexter, Cheryl and her husband, Doug Bussell, of Parkman, Bonnie Pike and her special friend, Anita Overlock, of Cambridge and Brenda Pike and her boyfriend, Jason Braley, of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Mallory, Lucas and Kelly Bussell, and Nicole Ronco; honorary children, Winnie (Pike) and her husband, Pat Adelt, of Florida and Dennis Dillingham of Harmony; brother, Carroll and wife, Penny Pike, of Cambridge; close nephews, Bob and Dale Pike of Wellington; many other special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Duane Pike; his parents; a sister, Geraldine (Pike) Wallace; and brothers, Glenn, Carle and Jesse Pike. Clair will be missed by his many friends and neighbors. The family thanks the family, friends, and especially the caregivers, Anita Overlock and Pam Battista, whose extra efforts allowed Clair to carry out his wishes to remain at home. Family and friends will gather 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at his home, 167 Parkman Road, Wellington. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Lawn Cemetery, Guilford.
