CARIBOU and SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Reginald J. Guerrette, 77, formerly of Caribou, passed away March 22, 2010, in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Caribou, the son of Willie and Cecile (Longley) Guerrette. Reg was a member of Caribou High School graduating Class of 1951 and Ricker College, and was a dedicated businessman. After graduation, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Caribou. He joined the Maine National Guard and then served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He farmed for many years and in 1978, he purchased a bakery and sub shop, known as Leopold’s Sub Shoppe, Caribou, and in 1990, he became employed by Aroostook County Commissioners as the building superintendent of the Caribou courthouse until his retirement in 2005. Reg is survived by his wife of 52 years, Leola “Lee” Guerrette of Scottsdale, Ariz., and formerly of Caribou; his son, Monte Lee Guerrette and his wife, Sue, of Ocala, Fla.; his daughter, Michelle Guerrette and her partner, Peter Pierson, of Augusta; his grandson, Jeremy Guerrette and his wife, Amy, of Hampden; his grandson, Phillip Rosin; and granddaughter, Becky Rosin, both of Ocala, Fla.; his great-grandson, Ryan Mains; and great-granddaughter, Payton Lee Guerrette, both of Hampden; and one brother, Raphael Guerrette and his wife, Roberta, of Caribou. A celebration of Reg’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced in the Bangor Daily News by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
