VALLEJO, Calif.- Robert W. “Bill” Lougee passed away March 22, 2010, in Vallejo, Calif. He was born July 7, 1947, in Houlton, the son of Leonard and Lillian (Moore) Lougee. Bill graduated from Island Falls High School in 1966. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1967. His 20-year career included assignments in Jonesport; Southwest Harbor; Kodiak, Alaska; and Vietnam. His final assignment was officer in charge at Mare Island, San Francisco. Growing up Bill attended Whittier Congregational Church, Island Falls. He was a member of Island Falls Lodge No. 206, a Scottish Rite Mason and the Shrine. Bill was good hearted and enjoyed life. Some of his greatest memories were of his trips back to Maine to the hunting camp at Howe Brook. He will always be remembered for his laugh and his ability to make others laugh. He was predeceased by his mother, Lillian Moore Lougee. He is survived by his two sons, Ryan and Joey; grandchildren, Ryan Jr., Ricardo and Shaela; his father, Leonard Lougee; brother, Toby Lougee; sister, Elizabeth and spouse, Douglas Clark; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held in Vallejo, Calif.
