LINCOLN – Lillian E. Ivey, 91, wife of the late John Ivey, passed away March 26, 2010, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Sept. 11, 1918, in Lincoln, the daughter of Cyrus H. and Tina M. (Gerry) Lane. Lillian was a hairdresser for 40 years. She enjoyed camping and fishing trips with her husband and family for many years. Lillian lost her eyesight in 1989 and crocheted more than 100 afghans for her family and friends. In 2008 she entered an afghan in the Springfield Fair, where she won a Blue Ribbon of special recognition. She was 90 years old and blind at the time. Lillian was thankful to be able to stay in her own home because of the excellent care rendered by Home Health Caregivers, Pam, Devra and Cheryl. These ladies were very special friends to Lillian and helped her in extraordinary ways. Lillian was a member of Aldworth Chapter No. 39, Order of the Eastern Star, Milo. She is survived by her son, David R. Harris and his wife, Carol, of Jefferson; a daughter, Alona Harris of Titusville, Fla.; a sister, Helen Hawkins of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Joel, Catherine, Diane, Donna, Lynn, Megan and Michelle; 11 great-grandchildren, several special nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Lacina; three brothers, Richard, Bertrand and Frank Lane; a sister, Uldine Milner; and an infant son, Walter G. Harris. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Keith Cushman and the Rev. Chet Dana officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Iris Network, 189 Park Ave., Portland, ME 04102.
