DEXTER – Lois Fountain Sperry passed away May 25, 2010, of complications from a stroke. She was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Springfield, Mass. The family moved to Bolton, Conn., a few years later. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1945 and continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania, obtaining a degree in dental hygiene. She worked in the area schools and dental offices as a dental hygienist for more than 25 years. A few years after marrying her second husband, Jack Sperry, they moved to Garland. She was an avid gardener and loved knitting, needlework and reading novels. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Sperry. She is survived by her sister Marion McCurdy of Largo, Fla.; daughters Denise LaPine Wright of Fairfax, Va., and Diane LaPine Brennan of Tolland, Conn.; four grandchildren, Jason and Nicole Wright, Shane and Melissa Brennan; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
