WHITING – Tessie W. Green went home to be with her Lord and Savior June 26, 2010. She was born July 24, 1923, in Lubec, a daughter of the late Charles E. Wilson and Sarah Crosby Wilson. Tessie was a lifelong resident of Whiting and was active in community affairs serving as tax collector, ballot clerk and PTA member. She graduated salutatorian of her 1943 Class at Washington Academy. Tessie was a loving mother and wife, and enjoyed reading, deer hunting, gardening, watching TV and family gatherings. Tessie was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert L. Green. She is survived by her children, Charles Green and his wife, Lois, of Orrington, Linda Harmon and her husband, Thomas, of Whiting and Gary Green of Bangor; and her grandchildren, Shannon Victory and fiance, Chris Seekings, of Bangor, and Stacey Fish and husband, David, of Lisbon, N.H., and their son, James, who was very dear to her heart. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at Whiting Cemetery, Whiting, with Pastor Bill Dodge officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held after the service at Hope Bible Fellowship, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 90, Whiting, ME 04691. Tessie spent many hours with others helping serve and cook for the public dinners at the fire department in Whiting.
