BANGOR and CORINNA – Izetta Turtlott, 69, went to be with her Lord Aug. 7, 2010. She was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Corinna, a daughter of Allen and Olive (Deabay) Howes. She was a graduate of Corinna Union Academy. Izetta was employed by the University of Maine, Orono, where she enjoyed her co-workers and made lifelong friends. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Exeter, and loved her church family. She also had the privilege of being a part of another church family at Grace Bible Church, Sangerville, where her son, Greg Arnold, is pastor. The support, encouragement and many prayers she received from these churches were greatly appreciated. Izetta is survived by two sons, Greg and wife, LaVonne Arnold, and their children, Zachary, Titus and Olivia, and Mark and wife, Shari Arnold, and their children, Rebekah, Caleb and Noah; a stepson, Robie and wife, Jennifer Turtlott, and their children, Adam and Justin; two stepdaughters, Bonnie and husband, John Briganti, and their children, D.J. and Tony, and Shelly and husband, James Wolfcale, and their children, Aaron and Kelli; two brothers and their wives, Alfred and Connie Howes, and Lewis and Florice Howes; a sister, Pauline Gray; a special sister-in-law, Belva (Perkins) Howes; a special mother-in-law, Hilda Turtlott; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lauris; two brothers, Roger and H. Dean Howes; and three sisters, Charlotte Metivier, Muriel Patterson and Shirley Morse. Izetta’s family thanks CancerCare of Maine for the tender loving care she received from Dr. Astrid Andreescu, Jan, Teresa and all the other special nurses. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Exeter, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Stan Griffin officiating. Burial will be at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Youth Ministry at Cornerstone Baptist Church, P.O. Box 131, Levant, ME 04456.
