WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Helen (Conway) Ford, 68, valiantly fought a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma, which she lost Aug. 12, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bangor, she was daughter of the late Michael J. and Ruth (DeMeritt) Conway. Helen was a member of Saints Simon & Jude Church, Westtown, Pa. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and shopping for her six grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling with the Tuesday morning league in Downingtown, Pa., and traveling to Atlantic City, N.J., to play the penny slots. Although an only child, Helen’s three sisters-in-law, Joan, Jean and Mary Ellen, were like sisters to her and she loved traveling with them on vacations. She is survived by her husband, Michael G. Ford, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage; her three sons, David and his wife, Christine, of Schwenksville, Pa., Brian and his wife, Holly, of West Chester, Pa., and James and his wife, Jackie, of Coatesville, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Logan, Alicia, Leigh, Brianna, Justin and Jimmy. Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, Pa.
