BROOKSVILLE – James Ernest Peasley Jr., 60, passed away Aug. 12, 2010, at his home, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 27, 1950, in Castine, son of James E. and Evangeline L. (Snow) Peasley Sr. James graduated from George Stevens Academy, Blue Hill, and attended Bangor Technical College. He worked for Frank Snow Plumbing and Heating for 15 years before starting and running his own business for 26 years, Peasley Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his green tractor and time spent at camp with his grandchildren tubing, boating, fishing and working on the camp. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Freida of Brooksville; son, Stephen Peasley and partner, Camille Pascal, of Brooksville; daughters, Stacey Hutchins and husband, Al, and Jaime Torrey and husband, Michael, both of Brooklin; nine very special grandchildren, Harlie and Nickolas Burke, Hoyt, Cora and Trafton Hutchins, Cameron, Lucus and Whitney Torrey and Jack Pascal; sisters, Jinnie Perkins and husband, William, and Judy Astbury and husband, Mike, both of Penobscot; brothers, Greg Peasley and wife, Kitty, and Frank Peasley and wife, Tonyia, both of Brooksville; in-laws, Elmer Lowell and wife, Elma, Claudia Smith and husband, Winfield, all of Penobscot, and Brenda Condon and husband, Donald, of Brooksville; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and an infant son. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Mount Rest Cemetery, Brooksville.
