BLAINE – Doris E. Wortman, 92, who has now joined her husband of 63 years, George, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at a Mars Hill health care facility. Dorie was born Nov. 24, 1917, in Blaine, the daughter of Clarence and Bernice (Corey) Faulkner. She was a successful farmer, working side-by-side with her family for many years. Dorie was also employed by Herschel Smith’s Packing and McCain Foods for many years. She was a member of Blaine Lodge as well as Rebekah’s. Dorie loved to laugh, dance, cook, play Beano, sing and spend time with her family. Her last moments were spent with family sitting outdoors in the sun laughing. Dorie will be sadly missed by many and happily remembered by all. She is survived by four daughters, Judith Guilmette and her husband, David, of Richmond, Brenda McLean and her husband, Robert, of Houlton, Cheryl Robichaud and her husband, Donald, of Mars Hill, and Deborah Wortman and her companion, Jeffery Sephton, of Blaine; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Marjorie “Marmie” Brewer of Bridgewater and Donna “Donk” Smith of Mars Hill; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Clarence Faulkner Jr.; as well as three sisters, Margaret Turner, Leatha Tweedie and Winifred Brown. The family thanks the girls of Mars Hill Nursing Home for the care she has been given in the last years. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
