MACHIAS – Andre Edwin Gerrard Carrington, 43, passed away after a long, courageous battle with leukemia Sept. 14, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Sept. 21, 1966, in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, son of Edwin W. and Patricia M. (Awai) Carrington. He was known as a true gentleman, with a kind heart and a warm smile. He was most proud of becoming a U.S. citizen in 2005. He was also proud to have received a master’s degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Colorado Tech. He was distinguished as a member of Mensa International. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Caitlin Nicole Carrington; and a grandmother, Marie. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Bonnie (Beal); his parents, Edwin and Patricia Carrington; a sister, Nicole and her husband, Kyron Lopez, and their children, Dmitri James and Kayla Lopez, all of Trinidad; a brother, Curtis of England; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Obed and Susan Beal; a grandmother, Laura Brown; sister-in-law, Tori Tibbetts and husband, Michael; sister-in-law, Crystal Beal; brother-in-law, Alex Beal and his companion, Heather Correll; nephews, Tyler and Jase; and nieces, Ivy-Sue and Celine. At his request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Andre in a special way may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
