ELLSWORTH – James Edward Austin, 57, passed away peacefully Sept. 16, 2010, at the home he shared with his parents on Patten Pond. He was born Jan. 29, 1953, son of William and Betty (Moran) Austin. Jim graduated from Ellsworth High School, Class of 1971, where he played basketball and baseball. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ellsworth. Jim enjoyed hunting, but his passion was fishing and he spent many hours fishing on Patten Pond with his brother, Tom; and good friend, George Thibodeau. He was a loyal lifelong fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. He worked as a painter for many years. Jim is survived by his parents; brother, Jack and his wife, Debbie, and their children, Dawn, Greg and Mike; brother, Tom and his wife, Darleen, and their children, Christine, Billie Lee and Colby; five great-nieces, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
