HOULTON – Gilbert J. Roy, 73, died Oct. 17, 2010, with family at his side at his residence. He was born March 17, 1937, in Guerette, son of Alfred and Martha (Albert) Roy. Gilbert was a communicant of St. Mary of the Visitation Church and was employed with Houlton International for many years before going to work in the woods until his retirement. He served with the Maine National Guard and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gilbert is survived by his seven children, Wendy Roy and her fiance, Raymond Diehl, Robin Murchie, Kimberly Graham and her husband, Nason, Lisa Beals and her husband, Brian, Rebecca Joslyn and her husband, Richard, Nikki Roy and her husband, Jason Howland, and Mathew Roy and his fiancee, January Jones; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Clinton Roy; many nieces and nephews; and his special companion, Anna. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Robert; and his sister, Madeline McGuire. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. David Raymond, celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
