ORONO – Florence Irene Littlefield, 82, wife of the late Wilbur Littlefield, died Nov. 5, 2010, at a health care facility in Orono. Florence was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Ashland, and was one of six daughters of Joseph and Annie (Brasslett) King. Florence was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Orono, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of Widowed Persons Services and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. She was an active volunteer and chairperson for Widowed Persons Services. She attended Hudson grammar schools and graduated from Eastern Academy Beauty School, Bangor. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for many years. Florence enjoyed her many friends. She loved pets, and she enjoyed crocheting and knitting, which she shared with family and friends. Florence is survived by a daughter, Rae Ann Antille and her husband, Francois; and a grandson, Kent Antille, all of Miege, Switzerland. She leaves behind her three sisters, Teresa Linscott of Surry, Shirley Raymond of Old Town and Donna and Stanley Spencer of Chiliquin, Ore.; many nieces and nephews; godchildren; and her special friend, Christine Beaulieu. In addition to her parents, Joseph and Annie King, Florence was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur; and two sisters, Lorraine Hachey and Jeanette Robichaud. Florence’s family gives a special thanks to the staff at Orono Commons for all of their kindness and care. Family and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Holy Family Church, Old Town. Interment will be after the service at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
