FORT KENT and MADAWASKA – It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Marie Reine (Martin) St. Jean, 86, formerly of Bangor, and wife of the late Lawrence St. Jean, Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Crosswinds Residential Care, Fort Kent. Born Aug. 19, 1924, in St. Basile, New Brunswick, Reine was the daughter of the late Adolph Martin and Laura Theriault. She was a homemaker and entrepreneur, and was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, and a faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by one brother, Rudolf Martin of St. Basile, New Brunswick; one sister, Martine Ericson of California; one son, Donald St. Jean and spouse, Barbara, of Orange County, Calif.; four daughters, Madeleine St. Jean-Ronan and spouse, Patrick, of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Evelyn St. Jean of Atlanta, Theresa Madore and spouse, Robert, of Glenburn and Lorraine Thibodeau and spouse, Robert, of Soldier Pond; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence St. Jean of Bangor, formerly of Fort Kent and Madawaska; one son, David St. Jean; 12 sisters and brothers. The family extends sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff of Crosswinds Residential Facility for their loving care of Mom during these past two years. At her request, there will be no viewing. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Nov. 10 at St. David Parish, where the family will receive friends and family after the funeral service.
