ORRINGTON – Eugene J. Grevencamp Jr., 64, died Nov. 12, 2010, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. He was born March 2, 1946, in Celina, Ohio, the son of Eugene V. and Leola M. (Kemper) Grevencamp. Eugene served 20 years with the U.S. Navy as a boiler technician. He retired as a chief petty officer and settled in Penobscot County. Eugene loved the tranquil nature of Maine and his little house in Orrington. He enjoyed spending time in his backyard garden, and was an avid card and cribbage player. He enjoyed the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment through books and discussions with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Donald R. Grevencamp of Waltham and Candice L. Grevencamp; his grandson, Justin D. Grevencamp, both of Otis; his mother, Leola M. Grevencamp of Ohio; his siblings, Theodore Grevencamp and wife, Mary, of Florida, Carol Jauchius and husband, Dean, Connie Smith and husband, Jim, Patricia Grevencamp, Marsha Justus and husband, Mike, and Diana Grevencamp; many nieces and nephews, all of Ohio. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brothers, Dale Grevencamp and Arthur Grevencamp. The family will be celebrating Eugene’s life at home together.
