HOULTON – Marie H. Bernaiche, 83, died Dec. 11, 2010, at a local hospital after an extended illness. She was born April 5, 1927, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, daughter of John P. and Cora J. (Hannan) McMullin. Marie was a longtime employee of Madigan Estates and retired after 23 years of service. She served as treasurer for Alliance for the Mentally Ill for 20 years, helping many area youth. Marie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and her greatest joy in life was spending time with family. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Bernaiche of Houlton; four sons, Gary of New Orleans, Darrell of Portland, James of New Jersey and David of Houlton; two daughters, Cheryl Huff of Biddeford and Rebecca Rogers of Chicago; one brother, Bill McMullin; two sisters, Anna Clay and Jean McMullin; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Visitation Church with Father David Raymond, celebrant.
