OAKFIELD and HOULTON – Marjorie G. Dyer, 91, died Dec. 27, 2010, in Houlton. She was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Moro, to Rance and Flora (Kennedy) Greenlaw, and lived in Oakfield all her adult life. Marge was a past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star, noble grand of Rebekah’s, and a longtime member of Oakfield Baptist Church. She was an award-winning knitter and crocheter, a great candy maker and a cracker-jack crossword puzzle solver. She especially loved being a grammie and great-grammie. She is survived by her three children, Roger and his wife, Kathy, Jim and his wife, Carole, and Beth and her husband, Richard Trout; five grandchildren, Rachel Dyer and her husband, Jonathan Leach, Elizabeth Dyer and her husband, Bill Conklin, Jake Dyer and his wife, Hannah, Alex Dyer and his wife, Nicole, and Aubrey Trout; four great-grandchildren, Callum, Finn and Ada Dyer, and Ava Trout; sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Norman Simard; sisters-in-law, Jane and Irene Greenlaw, and Ruth Dyer; wonderful friends, Sida Swallow, Dee Locke, Cindy Gray, Jeannie Goodall and Cathy Briggs; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Larry; sister, Helen Palmer; brothers, Dale, Roger and Keith Greenlaw; and bosom buddies, Viola Johnstone, Harriette Dunn and Dawn Larlee. Many thanks to all the staff at Madigan Estates for taking loving care of our mom. Per Marge’s request, there will be a graveside service in the spring at Oakfield Cemetery, with a gathering of family and friends after at Oakfield Community Center.
