HAMPDEN – Eleanor B. Lord, 84, wife of Raymond M. Lord passed away Jan. 9, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 15, 1926, in Hampden, the daughter of Walter F. Goodale Sr. and Clara (Anderson) Goodale. Eleanor lived most of her life in Hampden and was a graduate of Hampden Academy. She was also a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College, Wollaston, Mass., and received her master’s degree in education from the University of Maine. Eleanor was a schoolteacher and taught in Bucksport, Bangor, Hampden and Levant. Eleanor was a foster mother for many years and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Bangor. Eleanor will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Raymond of Hampden; two sons, Michael Dana Lord and wife, Mary, of St. Augustine, Fla., and Andrew Raymond Lord II of Bangor; two daughters, Beth Ellen Lord of Hampden and Debra Ann Lord Daigle and husband, Scott, of Brewer; twin sister, Evelyn D. Goodale of Brewer; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and foster children, Lynn Ann Muse and husband, Buz, of Oklahoma, Karen Belyea and husband, Daniel, of Glenburn and Bruce Ogden of Wells. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Harold E. Goodale and Walter F. Goodale Jr.; and a sister, Alice E. Madore. Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, with the Rev. Damon Hayward, of First Church of the Nazarene, Bangor, officiating. Memorial contributions in Eleanor’s memory may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 1465 Union St., Bangor, ME 04401.
