NEWPORT – Gertrude M. Lawler, 68, died Jan. 28, 2011, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. She was born April 18, 1942, in Bangor, the daughter of George and Mary (Bryant) Quirion.

She was a graduate of Hampden Academy. Gertrude was a homemaker and farm wife on the family farm in Dixmont for many years. She loved to cook and work on crafts. Her greatest joy was sharing her baked goods and her homemade crafts with her family and friends.

She is survived by four sons and their wives, Michael and Wendy Lawler of Carmel, Jeffrey and Deborah Lawler of Fairfield, Russell and Christina Lawler of Carmel and Corey and Jennifer Lawler of Bangor; one brother and his wife, Harold and Marlene Bryant of Hudson; 12 grandchildren, Brian, Melissa, Dakota, Mercedes, Daniel, Jeffrey Jr., Travis, Corey, Zackery, Aaron, Colby and Tyler; one great-grandson, Michael; one aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be remembered by many dear friends that loved and helped her.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport.
