WELLESLEY, Mass., SANDWICH, Mass., and MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Janet M. Watson, 89, died Jan. 27, 2011, in Marlborough, Mass., after a long illness. Janet Grace Monohon was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Cherryfield, daughter of the late Lottie (McDevitt) Monohon Murch.
She graduated with honors from Bangor School in 1939 and attended the nursing program at Eastern Maine Medical Center and the University of Maine, Orono. She lived most of her adult life in Wellesley Hills, Mass., and Sandwich, Mass. She was employed for many years by Wellesley Public Schools Library System. After her retirement and move to Sandwich, Mass., in 1984, she volunteered at Sandwich Public Library.
She is survived by her brother, John Monohon and his wife, Dot, of Bangor and Harrington; and by her six children, Richard Watson and his wife, Ginny, of Isle of Palms, S.C., Jeffrey Watson and his wife, Diane, of Hull, Mass., Joanne Singh and her husband, Pradeep, of Berea, Ky., Deborah Garofano and her husband, Ken, of Fort Myers, Fla., James Watson and his wife, Teresa, of Sutton, Mass., and John Watson of Bellingham, Mass. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the spring in the family plot at Rock Maple Cemetery, Harrington.
