FORT FAIRFIELD – Jo-Ann McCrum, 56, wife of Graydon E. McCrum, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 13, 2011, at her residence, after an extended illness. She was born July 14, 1954, in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Donald M. Sr. and Bernadette (Deschaine) Libby.Jo-Ann was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1974, and married Graydon E. McCrum, Dec. 8, 1984. She was employed in food service at the University of Maine, Presque Isle, and most recently at Fort Fairfield middle and high schools. She was an accomplished gardener who took great pride in beautifying her home with flowers and plants. She also enjoyed shopping, going to garage sales, card playing and dominos. She was also very fond of outings to camp at Cross Lake and cooking for friends and family. Jo-Ann attended United Baptist Church of Mars Hill and will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.Mrs. McCrum was predeceased by her mother, Bernadette Libby, Oct. 24, 1976. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Graydon E. McCrum; her father, Donald M. Libby Sr., both of Fort Fairfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan G. and Kate MacNaughton of Claremont, Fla., and Brandon and Molly McCrum of Portland; one daughter, Brooke Browning and her husband, William III, of Fort Fairfield; two stepsons, Jonathan McCrum and his wife, Melissa, of Mars Hill and Timothy McCrum and his wife, Amy Johnson, of Bangor; two brothers, Donald M. Libby Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Cowarts, Ala., and John Libby Sr. and his wife, Neneth, of Crestview, Fla.; two sisters, Marilyn Gardner and her husband, Larry, and Tammy Nordstrom, all of Fort Fairfield; father and mother-in-law, Bertram and Norma McCrum of Mars Hill; brother-in-law, Galen McCrum and his wife, Becky, of Alpharetta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Ethelyn Boyd and her husband, Fred, of Mars Hill; six grandchildren, Cody, Emmalee and Kaylee McCrum, all of Mars Hill, Makayla MacNaughton of Claremont, Fla., William Browning IV of Fort Fairfield and Zoe McCrum of Bangor; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Libby Gardiner Cummings and her husband, Mathew, of Caribou, and a special nephew, Aaron Nightingale, of Fort Fairfield; and many special friends too numerous to list. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, with Pastor Mitch Ross officiating. Spring interment will take place at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the funeral service.
