BANGOR – Robert W. Fossett, 65, passed away Feb. 11, 2011, at a local hospital, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 8, 1945, in Kenduskeag, the son of Linwood and Violana (Kitchen) Fossett.
Bob attended Bangor High School and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. An avid sports fan, Bob loved his hometown teams, the Red Sox and Patriots. His love of nature, his country, and his many beloved friends is surpassed only by his love for his children and family.
Robert is survived by his two children, Elizabeth of Windsor, Calif., and Zachary of Bangor; one granddaughter, Kahlan; sisters, Ramona of Fredericksburg, Va., and Irene of Ocala, Fla.; brother, Earl of Lewiston; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and George; and sister, Joyce.
A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating.
