GARDINER – Ruth M. Cook, 97, formerly of Belfast, died Feb. 14, 2011, at Augusta Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 20, 1913, in Belfast, a daughter of Frank and Laura Nickerson Harrick.
Ruth was a graduate of Searsport High School, Class of 1931 of. She made her home in Belfast for many years, moving in 2001 to live with her daughter, Roberta, in Gardiner
She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Wendall Tracy and Patricia Tracy; two great-great-grandchildren; her son, Lawrence Cook; and her husband of 46 years, George P. Cook. She is survived by her two daughters, Roberta Fox of Augusta and Mildred Weaver of Florida; 31 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, Gardiner.
