ORRINGTON – Eleanor “Mimi” Aucoin, 81, wife of Donald E. Aucoin, died Feb. 15, 2011, in Bangor, after suffering a stroke. She was born May 21, 1929, to Henry and Doris (Keezer) Lerette.

On May 22, 1948, she married the nicest boy she’d ever met, Donald Aucoin, and they spent 62 years together. They raised a large happy family of five girls and one boy, and she will be sadly missed by all. Although Eleanor had been challenged by breast cancer, throat cancer, colon cancer and a triple bypass, she never gave up hope and maintained a wonderful, positive outlook on life, and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Eleanor was employed for many years as a stitcher at Emple Knitting Mill, Brewer. She had many interests including golf, cross-country skiing, reading, gardening, rug hooking and going to yard sales. She enjoyed watching the many birds that came to the feeders outside her windows. Most of all, she loved nothing more than cooking for her family and went out of her way to make sure everyone got their special treats.

She was predeceased by her brother, John Lerette; daughter, Holly Aucoin; and son, Donald E. Aucoin Jr. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by her sister, Dolores Daggett and her husband, Ed; brother, Henry “Bub” Lerette; sister-in-law, Mary Lerette; daughters, Stephanie and husband, James Mooney Jr., Nadine and husband, John Higgins, Stacey and husband, Pat Van Dyne, Celeste and husband, John Grindle, and Deardra and husband, Randy Pavliska; daughter-in-law, Sharon Aucoin; grandchildren, James Mooney III and friend, Leslie Tax, Thomas and Eve Mooney, Renee and Joseph Lozon, Monica and Jeff Paul, Skip and Liz Van Dyne, Zachary and Heather Van Dyne, Paul and Alicia Harriman, Shawna Harriman and Rebecca Gallagher; great-grandchildren, Cadence Van Dyne and Keira, and Brady Lozon; numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Eleanor’s wish that there be no service. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Condolences to her family may be offered at
