MAPLETON – Ann Lovley, 82, died Sunday Feb. 20, 2011, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born July 4, 1928, in St. Francis, the daughter of Vincent and Elsie (Brownell) Hafford.

She was a 1947 graduate of Presque Isle High School, and a 1991 graduate of Northern Maine Technical College, graduating valedictorian of her class, receiving an associate degree in accounting. Ann was a hard worker, worked for Potato Service Inc., J.R. Simplot, McCain Foods, MBNA and Burrell’s. She was the true family monarch.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Elbridge “Ebb” Lovley of Mapleton; two sons and their wives, Conrad and Janice Lovley of Herndon, Va., and Brett and Mary Lovley of Mapleton; two daughters, Serena Lovley of Lamoine and Lori Bruce and her companion, Steve Schenck, of Westport, Mass.; five sisters, Mary West of Fort Fairfield, Christine York of Presque Isle, Mona O’Neal of Presque Isle, Ida Beaulieu and Ella Leighton, both of Fort Fairfield; two grandchildren, Darcy Lovley of Bangor and Dale Lovley of Spotsylvania, Va.; and two great-grandsons, Landon and Matthew Lovley. She was predeceased by two daughters, Lorna Lovley and Sonya Cheviot; a grandchild, Kesha Morris; two sisters, Viola Walker and Rose Akers; and two brothers, Vincent Hafford Jr. and Dana Hafford.
