TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Carolyn Lindsey Boyd, 72, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Boyd was born
Aug. 11, 1938, in Hermon, daughter of the late Virgil Woods Lindsey and Estelle Mae Brown Lindsey.
On Sept. 5, 1958, she married Jack L. Boyd, who predeceased her. They were married 47 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Dayle and Roger Holleger of Whigham, Ga.; son, Mark L. Boyd of Davenport, Fla.; grandchildren, Lindsey Holleger of Whigham, Ga., Erica and Jayme Williams of Cairo, Ga., Connor Boyd and Bryce Boyd, both of Tallahassee, Fla.; great-grandchildren, J.J. Williams and Evee Williams, both of Cairo, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Tina Lindsey of Hermon; and lifelong friends, Pat and Eleanor. In addition to her husband, Carolyn was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, William Lindsey and Courtland Lindsey.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at First United Methodist Church, Cairo, Ga., with the Rev. Henry Bass officiating. Guests may sign the online register at
