NEWPORT – Judith Ann Chandler Speaker Williams, 54, passed away Feb. 21, 2011, with her husband by her side at a Bangor hospital, after a long battle with diabetes. She was born April 22, 1956, in Dover-Foxcroft, a daughter of Hadley and Doris (Cronan) Chandler.

Judy was a graduate of Maine Central Institute, Pittsfield, Class of 1974 and attended Thomas College, Waterville. She was an avid gardener, quilter and homemaker. Judy loved to shop and cook and entertain guests at her home in Newport. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She was a former member of Sebasticook Garden Club.

In addition to her parents, she leaves behind her loving husband of 22 years, David Williams Sr.; two brothers, Steven Chandler and Jeff and wife, Laurie Chandler; sister-in-law, Eva Chandler; beloved daughter, Jaclyn and husband, Max Fish; beloved son, Gavin and wife, Mary Speaker; son, David and wife, Ruth Williams; daughter, Amanda Williams; grandchildren, Addison and Landon Fish and Ella Williams; several nieces and nephews, numerous friends and family.

Friends may call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25. A spring burial and committal service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at North Newport Cemetery. Those who wish may leave written tributes at
