MILO – Meta C. Staples, 88, wife of the late Rev. Carroll W. Staples, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 5, 2011, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home after a long illness. She was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Milo, the daughter of Shelton and Agnes (Swazey) Kenney.
Meta was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her brother, Emanuel Kenney; and her daughter, Beth R. Chabot. She is survived by her son, Stephen A. Staples and his wife, Mary, of Lincolnville; two nieces and their children, seven grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be announced and be held for family and friends in the spring in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at
