MILLINOCKET – Gail M. (Wilson) Chaplin, 72, died March 15, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born May 14, 1938, in Millinocket, the daughter of Robert and Lois (Tilley) Wilson.

She graduated from Stearns High School in 1956. Gail was a very giving and thoughtful woman, as well as a loving mother and a caring grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leo “Puggy” M. Chaplin; a brother, Jack B. Wilson; and an infant daughter, Jolayne Mary Lyons. Gail is survived by her brother, Paul C. Wilson of Monaca, Pa.; her four children, Jennifer Lyons of Cape Girardeau, Mo., James Lyons Jr. and Julie Cote of Bangor, Robert Lyons and his wife, Tara, of Meridian, Idaho, and William Lyons of Bangor; three grandsons, Kristopher and Trevor Lyons of Bangor and Broc Lenz of Meridian, Idaho; and a special granddaughter, Brooke Jordan Lyons of Oswego, N.Y. Gail also leaves behind a special friend and care giver, Bill Boyington of Millinocket; and a dear friend, Steve Martin. In addition, she will be missed by all of her AA friends. She touched the lives of many others. The family thanks the staff at Stillwater Healthcare, as well as St. Joseph Home Health and Hospice.

At Gail’s request, there will not be a funeral service. There will be a burial service to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gail’s name to Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
