BANGOR – Alberta C. Blanchard, 68, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, in Bangor. She was born April 28, 1943, daughter of Albert Blanchard and Charlene (Curtis) Desjardins, and stepdaughter of Cyrll Desjardins.
Alberta spent many joy filled hours listening to music, watching movies, playing bingo and spending time with her dear friends, Rena Murray, her family and Bonnie Brooks.
She is survived by three brothers, Stan Desjardins, Val Desjardins and wife, Joanne, and Theodore Clewley and wife, Phyllis; three sisters, Debbie Desjardins, Dolores Bickford and husband, Larry, and Dena Jewell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Village Cemetery, Mount Ephraim Road, Searsport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alberta’s memory may be made to Special Olympics Maine, attention: Linda, 125 John Roberts Road, No. 19, South Portland, ME 04106. Arrangements are under the direction of Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St., Searsport.
