BRADLEY, Maine — A Brewer woman early Sunday morning walked into the Bradley home of her ex-boyfriend, who has since married, and was arrested for assault and burglary after throwing a beer bottle at him and biting him.
A Corinth man who was with her also was arrested.
“She showed up at her ex-boyfriend’s of several years ago at 3 in the morning and walked right in the home,” Deputy James Kennedy of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, said on Tuesday. “She came in and went right into the bedroom yelling that she needed help.”
While the victim dressed, Sabrina Bubier, 39, apparently got upset and when he exited the bedroom she threw beer bottles at him, hitting him once in the leg and grazing his face with another, Kennedy said.
The victim sat on Bubier and held her wrists down in an attempt to control her while “he told his wife to call 911. [Bubier] bit his finger, his thumb.”
The victim was treated at the scene by an Old Town Ambulance crew.
Bubier told police that she was scared of Aaron Root, 34, of Corinth who entered the ex-boyfriend’s home with her, Kennedy said.
“She picked him up at Carolina’s [bar] in Bangor and if she was really scared there were other places she could have gone,” the deputy said.
Bubier was charged with felony burglary as well as domestic violence assault and Root was charged with felony burglary. The charges against Root may be downgraded to criminal trespassing, Kennedy said.
Both Bubier and Root were taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor and later released. If convicted of the felony burglary charge, Bubier could face a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
