BANGOR – W. Pauline (Green) Connors passed away peacefully Oct. 18, 2011, after a short illness. She was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Houlton, the daughter of Charles and Ada (Partridge) Green.

She graduated from Houlton High School, class of 1935, and went to Houlton Business School for accounting. She married Lloyd T. Connors, Nov. 13, 1936, in Houlton. Mr. and Mrs. Connors lived in Fort Fairfield, Houlton, Grindstone, Medway and West Seboeis, as her husband, Lloyd worked for Bangor and Aroostook Railroad. While living in Indian Township, West Seboeis, Pauline was postmaster for that area. After Mr. and Mrs. Connors moved to Bangor in 1972, she worked in the utilization review department and medical records at Eastern Maine Medical Center. After retiring she managed The Damn Yankee gift shop, Brewer and Bangor, worked for Country Casuals, and assisted in school cafeterias in the Bangor schools. Her specialties were knitting mittens for the children of family and friends. She enjoyed reading and sharing her mustard pickles, relish, gingerbread, jams and jellies. She loved driving to see family, go to church and to senior luncheons.

She was predeceased by her husband; daughter, Ina Lacourse; and three sisters, Faye Harbison, Helen Connors and Tressa Bither. She is survived by daughters, Nancy Henry of Bangor and Eloyd Hooper and husband, Bob, of Falmouth; grandchildren, Kathy Lacourse, Joleen (Lacourse) Mills, Joe Lacourse, Chris Henry, Nanette Henry, Beth Ann (Hooper) Nickerson and Amy Hooper; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Henry, Miranda Lacourse, Justin Martin, Trevor Martin, Sean Mills, Ryan Mills, Monica Lakin, Caroline Nickerson and Emma Nickerson; great-great-grandchildren, Austyn Castonguay, and twin baby girls, Aubrie and Brielle Binette; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Nov. 12 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to St. John’s Episcopal Church.
