PORTLAND – Hazel A. McInnis, 92, passed away Oct. 21, 2011, at The Cedars, Portland. She was born March 27, 1919, in Bancroft, to the late William and Inez (Tedford) Faraday.
She moved from Bancroft to Brownville Junction and graduated from Brownville Junction High School in 1936. Hazel married her high school sweetheart, William “Bill” McInnis, July 27, 1940. They made their home in Brownville Junction and raised two children, Philip and Barbara. Hazel was a member of Brownville Junction United Methodist Church and Englewood United Methodist Church in Florida. After retiring Hazel and Bill divided their time between their summer cottage on Schoodic Lake in Brownville, and their home in Englewood, Fla. Hazel moved back to Portland in 2005 to be closer to her family.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, William E. McInnis; daughter, Ann; son, Philip; and great-granddaughter, Meghan. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara McInnis-Cicuto and her husband, Kenneth; six grandchildren, Carolanne Caron and her husband, Michael, Charles McInnis and his wife, Jaime, Christopher McInnis and his wife, Mindy, Jeniffer Mulherin and her partner, Michael, Jason Mulherin and Amy McInnis and her fiance, Steve; and six great-grandchildren, Nicole and Joshua Caron, Sarah Plunkett, Olivia Mileski, Dylan McInnis and Grace McInnis. She will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Hazel’s sweet nature will be missed by her extended family, Carrie Cicuto and her partner, Derek, and children, Conner and Ellie; Bart Cicuto and his wife, Lauren, and their daughter, Maxine; Kenny Cicuto; and Jacob Moody.
Committal prayers will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 5 at Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville Junction. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Dec. 27 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland.
