LIMESTONE – Gloria J. (Pelkey) Bossie, 64, passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 27, 2011, at her residence, after a brief illness. She was born May 12, 1947, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of John R. Sr. and Sylvia (Gorneault) Pelkey.

Gloria was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School and had been employed by Caribou Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in their food service department for many years. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards with her friends and deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father, John R. Pelkey Sr., June 5, 2008. She is survived by her mother, Sylvia Pelkey of Fort Fairfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark J. and Chrissy Bossie of Lewiston and Steven J. and Sarah Bossie of Caribou; three brothers, Roger Pelkey of Arizona, John Pelkey Jr. and his companion, Storm Goodwin, of Limestone and Philip Pelkey of Presque Isle; four sisters, Joyce Linhares of Lewiston, Christina Trahan and her companion, Graden Ouellette, of Caribou, Janet Sullivan and her husband, Edward, of Fort Fairfield and Lynn Pankhurst of Florida; three grandchildren, Caitlyn Bossie of Caribou, Ryan and Damon Bossie of Lewiston; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. At Gloria’s request, there will be no formal funeral ceremony, however family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering to share fellowship and refreshments 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Private interment will take place at St. Luce Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Gloria to Caribou Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, 10 Bernadette St., Caribou, ME 04736. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
