LEE – Joan A. Scribner, 82, wife of Roland Scribner, now rests in the arms of her Lord that she was dedicated to all of her life, where she went Nov. 5, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 29, 1929, in Lee, the daughter of Paul and Lillian “Bashie” (Noyes) Blake.
In her earlier days, Joan planted potatoes, rogued potatoes and picked potatoes. She held many jobs in her life, including working at Pierce Pond Camps, and spent 33 years working in the hot lunch program at Mount Jefferson Junior High School. She was a lifelong member of American Legion Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, Roland, she is survived by three children, Larry Cobb and Sondra, Delia Murphy and Michael, and Jeffrey Cobb and Terry; two sisters, Susan Oliver and Charles, and Madelene Trask and Gordon; a brother-in-law, Al Charrette; a sister-in-law, Pat Blake; brother-in-law, Claude Scribner and Charlene; brother-in-law, Floyd Cobb and Betty; sister-in-law, Phyllis Scribner; eight wonderful grandchildren, six precious great-grandchildren, many special nephews and nieces, as well as many close friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three siblings, Adria Worster, Paul Blake and Irene Charrette.
Friends may call 11 a.m-1 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Gail Januskiewicz officiating.
