NORTHPORT – Ruth D. Herrick, 84, died Nov. 6, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 30, 1927, in Northport, daughter of Oscar and Esther (Mahoney) Drinkwater.
Ruth was a member of Beach Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Lincolnville, and Friendship Sample Quilters. She was a wonderful fabric artist who had many of her quilts on display. She was a longtime member of Northport Community Church. She loved her family, cooking and being a homemaker and mother.
She was predeceased by her husband, George; and her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, Charles Herrick and his wife, Joan, of Northport; several special nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her beloved dog, Bella.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Interment at Saturday Cove Cemetery will be private. Those who wish may make donations in Ruth’s memory to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be offered at
