CONNOR TOWNSHIP – Blanche E. Hebert, 95, wife of the late Wilfred Hebert, died Nov. 14, 2011, in Caribou. She was born Feb. 5, 1916, in Caribou, daughter of the late Napoleon and Marguerite (Pelletier) Brissette.
She was a 1938 graduate of Caribou High School and she married Wilfred Hebert in 1940. Mrs. Hebert retired from Potato Service Co. Blanche was a devout Catholic, who often prayed for anyone in need, and was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was also a member of Ladies of St. Anne. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, listening to music and tending her garden.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Barbara Hebert of Connor Township; her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Tom Kane of Caribou; one sister, Ida Chapman of Caribou; 10 grandchildren, Pam Kieffer and her husband, Scott, of Portland, Sandra Raymond and her husband, David, of Biddeford, Kathy Coty and her husband, Gerald, Roger Hebert and his wife, Julie, Amy Walker and her husband, Tim, all of Caribou, Todd Hebert and his wife, Polly, of Houlton, Tim Hebert and his wife, Kira, of Bangor, Jack Kane and his fiancee, Debbie Muhlberg, of Portland, Christina Kane Gibson and her husband, John, of Taylor, Texas, and Karen Kane Roby and her husband, Kyle, of Bowling Green, Ky.; 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many beloved neighbors, friends, co-workers and church family. Mrs. Hebert was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred, in 1964; a son, Roger, in 1977; four brothers, Armand, Romeo, Lawrence and Patrick Brissette; and two sisters, Leola and Irene Bourgoine.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where evening vigil prayers will be held 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Parish of the Precious Blood, Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Interment will be at the parish cemetery. After the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish hall. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Hebert may do so through Sacred Heart Catholic Church memorial fund.
